Gokarna are bringing us into a fourth decade since Led Zeppelin elevated the rock revolution to an absolutely manic pitch, with three decades of influences, a modern rock guitar band with a blend of gutsy blues, raw lead vocals and a groove,retro rhythm mixed in with the wall of sound.
Gokarna was the brainchild of vocalist Ragsy and guitarist Kevin Bradwick. Ragsy, the band's frontman,had a vision to form a musical outfit capable of churning out the kind of hits that shape a generation of kids turning on their stereos for the first time, from listening to songs like ’Whole lotta Love’ by Led Zeppelin to The Verves ‘Bitter Sweet symphony’ .
Guitarist Kevin Bradwick heard the opening chords to Nirvana's "Smells like Teen Spirit" and, feeling like he had discovered the zenith of pop music, grabbed a guitar and chased his own version of rock and roll perfection. His style of guitar playing is one built on confidence, on swagger, on belonging. Like all the pioneers of rock and roll who have come before him. Kevin represents the genesis of what ultimately is the Gokarna, sound.
Gokarna entered the studio in 2007, with Crash productions.
The band's unrelenting push, combined with the crash studio experience and wizardry behind the mixing console, made a perfect breeding ground for a fourth decade of change.
Gokarna will be on the road later this year ?
2006 saw the band play at London’s Barfly, Camden, Underworld, Carling Academy’s and The Borderline, returning to home lands with gigs at the Cardiff Barfly, Club Ifor bach to major supports.
