I am a piano player from way back....in fact this could be considered a compulsion or a release...however a "release" suggests that I actually would get rid of the urge to play and a "compulsion" seems like a negative idea when compared to the addiction to playing.
I use no loops, samples or computer programs to produce the project known as guided by spirits. Songs are crafted from beginning to end, middle to end to beginning again.....confused?....
Let me explain...the song "breathless" was composed of many "one time takes." This means I will sit down and just play what you hear. My musical ear allows me to arrange and essentially "hear" how and where my music goes. Most of the times no plan or idea exists for songs...they just happen.
The way I see it if I am "allowed" to listen to a song from beginning to end then it is done.
