Hangman was originally formed in spring 1997 by Mika & Petrus to play Heavy Metal. In late 1999 or early 2000 they decided to call it off. In autumn 2005 the band relocated and reunited with only one original member, Mika. New line-up was: August - vocals, Mika - Lead Guitars, Jani - Lead Guitars and Albert - Drums. Just before Hangman hit the studio for a brand new promo Jani left the band and they were out of twin guitar. After Petrus rejoined the band Hangman have two former members. In a month and a half Hangman was introduced to Tomas. This young "thunderfinger" showed his talents in audition and was immediately signed for the band.
In year 2006 Hangman rehearsed. Including a video shootage for one song. And few gigs were done. Two months before recordings of "The Gallows" Hangman silently hanged August. In few weeks they saw an add of a vocalist and contacted him ASAP. An audition was arranged and that was it....
Since the beginning of the year 2007 Hangman have been writing new songs, recording tracks for the album, done some gigs and... Hangman's main priority is still to promote their music all over Finland and the world.

Winds of changes has blown in the camp of HANGMAN. We are now a four-piece band. We were forced to let Petrus go. Nothing personal...

Another breaking news; we are finally finishing the mixing of "THE GALLOWS". Here's few songs mastered by Mikael. There's something new in "Face In The Shadows" and one song that have never been released yet.

And last but not least. We have a new guitarist...
