About Band
Background
The central New Jersey based group was officially formed in November 1999 and consists of three musicians who have over twenty-five years of combined playing experience in various settings.
Their music has its roots in Christian Hard Rock, but quickly transcends the norm by adding deeply emotional, inspiring lyrics and blending various musical styles. Along with their hard rock pieces, their collection includes several acoustic and rap songs. The message is never watered down and the music is always powerful. At live shows the band exudes tremendous energy that gets the crowd involved, which promotes a memorable and exciting experience, appealing to believers and non-believers alike.
After producing their first album in the fall of 2000, the group began playing at local events including several battle of the bands and Basking Ridge's Charter Day Celebration. In the spring of 2003, Higher Authority released a three-song demo. The demo is a work in progress for their upcoming second
album, and offers fans a taste of what's to come.
The band is now looking for opportunities to share their music and faith, by developing a larger fan base. They feel that their music and experiences can help young people realize the truth about what God can do in their lives.
Audience/Format
The audience base, as determined via mailing lists and sales demographics, is wide ranging from the "under 18" to "18 to 54" age groups. Higher Authority considers themselves Christian Hard Rock, but could also be considered as a cross-over band with songs ideal for Modern Rock, RAP, RAP-Rock, and Alternative Rock formats.
