About Band
Tha name is Robert "Q Hunit" Gary born and raised on the Westside of Chicago. When I was 15 years old I moved to Plainfield IL. My first love was football and my dream was to go to the NFL and play free safety. I attended Joliet West High School and Plainfield South High School and then Orr Academy High School located in Chicago. I played football for all my high schools except Orr which by then I gave up the dream, thinking that it would never come true anyway. I never give up on anything I do, but I kept going back and forth on how long it would take to make that dream possible. Now, I’m a new man on a mission to take over this music game. I didn’t grow up rich but, was far from poor so I would say I lived a fairly good life. I always listened to all kinds of music and kept my eyes glued to B.E.T, but it was only a month ago that my partner Dayrise heard me spitting freestyle and was like why you don’t make your own music. So we started freestyling every chance we got just me and him. We decided to go into a studio and lay some tracks down and every since then we just been making hits after hits. My plan is to take over the billboard charts by the end of 2012 and put life back in music.
Darius (DayRise) Morgan was born near St. Louis Mo. My life was full of drama from the very beginning. My biological mother decided within weeks of my birth that she didn’t want to be a mother. By then, my father was long out of the picture. I was left to being raised by my maternal grandmother. I struggled trying to identify my place in the world. At the age of one, my family moved to the south suburbs of Chicago. This would be the place I would call home, having no memory of my early time spent near St. Louis. I proved to be quite a handful growing up; often giving my grandparents many moments of heartfelt laughter as well as monumental grief over my childhood antics. I displayed a voracious thirst for music, latching on to such musical icons as Michael Jackson. I often found myself consumed by my uncles’ extensive collection of Rap music. From there I developed my own style of Rap, hence the birth of “DayRise”. I started out by writing about everyday occurrences in my life, this quickly graduated to the next Phoenix Rising of the Rap World. I have nothing but raw talent and a hunger to succeed. Having come from such a humble beginning, I am determined to make a name for myself in this music industry. These things were evident at Bloom Trail High School where I would often jump on the lunch room table an engage in impromptu raping battles, often mimicking the behavior of Rap stars I viewed on MTV. MTV consumed my entire day as a young man. I simply could not get enough. A chance meeting between myself (DayRise) and Q-Hunit in Plainfield IL. that is setting forth a series of events that is launching HIGHLIGHT XxXpress. We are creating great music that everyone is going to love!!!
