We are Idiometric. We started in February 2005 and identified as The Disease; in those days we mostly specialised in self-pity and insisting that we were a joke. After a brief stint as The Christ Martins we started calling ourselves The New Vague, played our first gig, self-released a mini-album called ‘I have to get to the hospital’, and started taking ourselves a little more seriously (in that order). Today we’ve changed our name again and we’d quite like it to stick this time. At the moment we’re mostly putting together material for our first full-length album, entrenching ourselves in Leeds’ music scene, and occasionally playing gigs at Bristol’s Louisiana in the holidays. Various of our number contribute to DrunkenWerewolf and Leeds Student. When we’re not being pop we like reading and mouthing off. We hope you like our music.
