About Band
John Douglas Prasec sees the light in Trieste, on March 2, 1983 at 21.00. He lived his childhood surrounded by his father’s friends who were talented musicians playing on the local scene. As a young child, John studied drums and became quite skillful. He actually got kicked out of elementary school music class for pounding the floor like a bass drum! In 2000, John and three friends formed the band, Sunlow, with John playing drums. They had a great following and were big on the local Trieste scene. In 2003, the band split up due to personal issues. Disillusioned, John decided to take some time off, travel and be alone with his thoughts. In 2004, John returned to Trieste. He worked day jobs and his evenings were dedicated to writing songs and arrangements for his new solo project. During that time, he began to study with various maestri to strengthen his musical abilities. He delved into the rich musical styles of funk to heavy metal. During his continuing research for the new project, John stayed in touch with local and foreign bands through festivals, concerts and gigs. He became friends with the talented musicians who would eventually help him create the band of dreams: The John Prasec “All Stars” Band! In 2007 John was ready to rock! The JPB debuted with unpublished songs and rearrangements of classic rock tunes. The shows were received by enthusiastic audiences. As a front man, John was finally able to connect with the crowd, something he always dreamed about doing! His shows attracted the local media as well as other performers. He was invited to take part in the music video, “Corri”, the first single of the album “Supafunkitch” by his maestro Al Castellana. John was also asked to be the on site manager for Sinestesia, a progressive metal group from Trieste. The band performed at the Gods of Metal 2007 in Milan. Also in 2007, he collaborated and participated on a new radio show conducted by Ricky Russo and heard on Radio Attivita, called “Trieste se ci sei batti un colpo di rock!” Presently, John Prasec is working on the long awaited album he has promised to his devoted fans….
