About Artist
Chaney, born Joseph Chaney is a solo music hip-hop/rap artist. Raised on the troublesome streets of Memphis, Tennessee, he adopted the hip-hop culture from my older brother Charles at the age of 14 years old. Currently serving a military tour in Japan, it wasn't until 2008 when he gained an international fan base for his talents. Being critiqued by Violator Management's, Shaun Copeland and Eddie Galan of Muse Artist Management, Chaney has developed an additional definition to hip-hop music. At the moment Chaney is currently recording a mixtape composed of remakes of hip-hop/rap songs. Throughout northern Japan, Chaney's buzz has grown widespread in Asia, also into regions in Europe. Chaney writes and records 100% of all his music and in the process of completing a small video from a song off the mixtape for YouTube audiences. Funded all out of pocket, Chaney has recorded over 100 remakes of hip-hop music from various artists today. Mixtapes have been Chaney's focus at the moment rewarding him with an increase of more fans around the globe. At the age of 16, Chaney committed to Memphis local rap group named, "Crisis Family" in Memphis. The group was composed of six members. After only a short year running, the group parted ways after the death of a member. Shortly after, Chaney proceeded to start a solo career. Determined, Chaney performed in nightclubs and talent shows throughout Memphis and Europe. Over the course of five years, he has completed many records and traveled all over the globe performing and collaborating with local artists making great records. Chaney is unofficially signed to his own record label by the name of Music City Recordings. Considered a controversial rapper, due to his military background, Chaney has proved that nothing can detour him when wanting to speak his mind. With hip-hop music being first as an artist and rap music being a sidekick, he as combined both genres of music with great perfection to create a different sound today. That original sound today, earned the nickname, "The Original Rapper", from his peers. Chaney normally paints pictures with his unique rhyme scheme. Listeners near and far are listening to Chaney's version of hip-hop songs. Christophe Chantzis of Alpha Omega Records in Belgium quoted, "What It Means 2 Be a Hustla" & "Get Mine", are pretty ok and the beats on "Jamaycah" are cool." The progression rate that Chaney has achieved is phenomenal. "Chaney is a very talented artist with a promising future", quoted, hip-hop artist, Kaye Styles of Belgium.
