About Artist
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kainalu Busque was saturated in music during his most impressionable, childhood years. While growing up, Kainalu was exposed to the musicianship of his father, as there was always a vinyl playing in the background of the daily practices and routines of life that were going on in the household. As Kainalu's father first introduced him to playing songs on his Ukulele and Guitar, Kainalu began to take pride in writing his own, introspective lyrics, as well as learning to play the drums, bass and percussion during his teenage years. By his sophomore year in high school, Kainalu had solidified for himself that music was his passion, and that creation is his destiny. Upon high school graduation, Kainalu took a break to contribute his drumming skills to an Indie band called, Closer Than Jacob. He eventually found his style and his voice as a solo musician, and has been playing and performing professionally for the past three years. Though Kainalu has not recorded his debut, studio LP, he has released several demo compilations. His demos are just as successful amongst listeners as any artist could anticipate for their full-fledged albums. The demos receive recognition as they have spawned such stand-out singles that include, Empty Space, Sunset Song and Way Too Long. As Sunset Song tends to captivate the attention of a lot of female listeners, Kainalu has always maintained the attention of his male fans with singles that include, Empty Space. Kainalu prides himself on writing lyrics that are simple and relatable; illustrated to allow each music lover to create their own interpretation of the song's intent. As Kainalu continues to perform center stage, before live audiences at local bars and lounge spots, he has also been featured on KTUH radio during the weekly, songwriter showcase. The 23 year old singer/songwriter continues to grow, and learn more about his passion...music. With every warm strum of his guitar, to every soulful song he sings, his heart comes through to touch his audience in a very heartfelt and inspiring way.
Ultimately, Kainalu wants to continue challenging himself to create meaningful music that will transcend his career into a plateau of receiving worlwide, critical and commercial acclaim.
