LELA KAPLOWITZ studied Jazz vocal improvisation with Sheila Jordan at the Jazz Conservatory in Graz .  She has studied with Jay Clayton, Mark Murphy and attended the Berklee Summer Music Workshop in Peruggia, Italy and The Vocal Performance Workshop at the New School in New York City.   Lela has performed with world renowned jazz artists including the Arturo “Chico” O’Farrill Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra, Doug Carn, Ratko Divjak, Elvis Stanic, Miles Griffith, Bill Saxton, Harry Whittaker, Dick Griffin, Charles Tolliver, Craig Handy , Gary Fritz, Bob Alberti, Ben Tucker, and many others.  She has performed concerts in many European cities and in the top New York City music venues such as Madison Square Garden (International Music Festival, November 2003), Birdland, The Blue Note, Smalls, Joe Franklin’s Memory Lane Restaurant, Cleopatra’s Needle, Jazz ‘n’ Java and the Central Park Summer Stage.  She performed at Miles Jaye’s Jazz Festival in Atlantic City and in Miami, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Savannah (Savannah Music Festival, March 2004, Savannah, Georgia),  She also appeared numerous times on Joe Franklin’s Radio Show “Memory Lane” on WOR 710AM.   In she sang at the BP club, at the Siscia Jazz Club, at numerous hotels and venues throughout . She appeared on many radio stations and recently on NET TV network’s “Ljeto za sjećanje” (“A Summer To Remember” airing September 2006).

                 JOE KAPLOWITZ began performing professionally at age 15 inWashington, DC. He earned his bachelors degree in music at Youngstown State University in 1995 and has since performed with the likes of Eddie Daniels, James Moody, Ernie Krivda, Greg Bandy, Randy Jonston, Wycliff Gordan, Ralph Bowen, and Sean Jones. Joe has also shared the stage with David “Fathead” Newman and blues legends Koko Taylor and Lucky Peterson.  Since 1999, Joe has led bands in appearances at the White House and music venues such as Blues Alley, The Knitting Factory, and The House of Blues. Joe is actively composing and producing music for film, radio and television and is becoming one of Europe ’s most sought after musicians.  He moved to in 2006 and has played at important music venues and appeared on  the NET TV network (September 2006 “Ljeto za sjećanje”).

 When Lela and Joe perform they always leave the audiences wanting more. Their extraordinary talents combine to take their devoted fans on a breathtaking journey through music, love and awareness.  Their original music provides solace for the seekers of truth. Their lyrical and musical expression is rich with the passion of jazz yet full of fresh sounds keeping them popular with audiences of today.  Their new album is to be expected in spring 2007.
