KrYpTiC k & Sammy D [ Beth Waylon Nikki Foust]
The powers that be over at MTV had a "great" idea for a TV show--following an aging, yet photogenic rock duo trying to catch a post menopausal break it in the music biz. At first they were all for it, but then KrYpTiC k and Sammy D became increasingly concerned that it would be like "selling one's soul to the devil".
The producers assured them otherwise, so they agreed.
The show "KrYpTiC k & Sammy D: Rock (in) da House" was conceptualized as a reality sitcom a la "The Osbournes," hoping that comedy would ensue. However, Bassist nikki Foust, a closeted (or not so closeted?) exhibitionist started walking around nude and acting like a b*tch to get a rise out of her "co-stars."
KrYpTiC k and Sammy D would not play along and the show ended up being more boring than "Big Brother 3" and was cancelled after the first season. The show's theme song, "Upstairs Jan," which was originally a meditation on alienation, bad cops, and social cruelty, did end up hitting MTV's top spot for a few weeks, but KrYpTiC k and Sammy D went the way of Eden's Crush... but now, THEY'RE BAAAAAAACK!
:) lol...
