My name is Larry Ingram, very simply, I was born in 1954, yes I realize for some of you that's a bit old, but like wine that gets better with age so do some people. short end? I started playing music when I was 13 years of age, I grew up listening to people like Jimi Hendrix, the Who, and most if not all of the other's in the 60's and 70's, however during a period of time in the late 70's which I often refer to as the period when music fell asleep and it was replaced (for a short period of time thank God!) by this dull monotonous beat that was designed by spies to make other spies talk, otherwise known as Disco! I branched off into various other forms and styles of music (Classical, Jazz, Swing, fusion, and Christian Contemporary Music, which was in it infancy then)and the music was great, but I also got the message too, thus committing (as imperfect as I am)my soul to Christ, and having my first real encounter with GOD!.
Then the 80's came, (Halleluajh) "I can boogie again" started getting into the good stuff, like Petra, Phil Keaggy, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Wes Montgonery, Night Ranger, Van Halen, Al Dimeola, and various other people, Oh and yes I almost forgot Django Reinhardt (the Gpysy king)thus leading to Glenn Miller, Les Brown, and various others of that era including Benny Goodman.
guitar playing (much to my gratitude) had become very techincal, and thanks to one person in particular Yngwie Malmsteen, who does a masterful job of fusing Classical with Rock, I found this really inspiring!!! and to this very day I still do!!! I play Guitar, Bass and Keyboards, mainly because I enjoy doing all three and I write as well as play in a wide variety of styles and genres of music, (I find playing one style very boring and it gives me a headache after a while!) But I hope that you'll enjoy what I put on here
