About Artist

Lovox is an MC and has changed the game of Rap. A native of Brooklyn, NY Lovox was first introduced to the game when he performed at a Talent show at the University of Maryland that featured Tracey A. Lee a future Bad Boy Artist; there the soon infamous Lovox was born. In 1996 through working on his demo, Lovox along with several other business associates launched the entertainment company called Five 5 Dynasty Entertainment LLC where Lovox was a co owner as well as the first signed artist. He did the finishing touches to his demo and performed in several showcases. One particular show was called the B. Bernard Brown Showcase. In order to perform Lovox was interviewed and his music was reviewed unlike the normal open mics. Bernard was so impressed by Lovox as an artist that he allowed Lovox to perform along with two other artist as hype men. What made this signifigant was this was an R&B showcase not a showcase for Hip Hop. Lovox was the first Hip Hop artist allowed to perform. Bernard was so mesmerized by his stage performance that he requested Lovox be the host of his first Hip Hop showcase. In 1997 a few months after the showcase, he caught the attention of Motown Universal. The A&R rep at the time was Stanley Brown. He then passed Lovox's music to another A&R rep that was looking for another rapper. Unfortunately at the time due to some low album sales, they had to let go before negotiations because they only had enough budget money for one new artist. They had already signed another rapper. Through the years Vox has developed his own unique sound that fuses his love for the genre of rap and his love of the written word. His sound was shaped from a combination of many elements. He grew up listening to Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, KRS 1. Rakim gave him that deep spiritual thinking and way of figurative writing. Big Daddy Kane gave him examples of smooth swagger and delivery. Slick Rick gave him his storytelling skills. KRS 1 gave him the cockiness to know that he too can be number one. Lovox has battled many many rappers on basketball courts, schools, and one moment that stands out was the famous Lyrist Lounge that made Mos Def famous. It was Mos Def, Lovox, a member of Wu Tang, and our other rapper Red going back and forth for an hour. Lovox and Red held it down and Mos Def was very impressed. Lovox has officially released his first commercial single “Payroll” which is distributed worldwide via Island Def Jam Digital. The video debut of this song will be in August 2010 along with a full promotional/marketing campaign.
