About Band
"On her admirable album ‘Kick the Sand’ Lowri Evans has a stunningly intimate version of U2’s ‘With Or Without You’ with just her voice, guitar and cello. But it’s not that she can’t write herself, as all the other songs are her own. There’s the sassily slinky ‘I Can’t Decide’, as well as the equally beguiling ‘Not At Maria’s’. Her warm and expressive voice reaches the parts of you most other singers don’t".

Lowri’s 1st English Language album ‘Kick the Sand’ was released in July 2007 on the Fflach Tradd label, featuring a host of guest musicians including Aaron Ahmun (John Martyn, Andy Summers) playing percussion and drums and Andrew Coughlan (Gary Numan, Cerys Mathews, Shakin’ Stevens) on bass. Live sessions on Frank Hennessy’s ‘Celtic Heartbeat’, and Alan Thompson’s “Evening Show” on BBC Radio Wales helping to promote the album.
In March 2008, Lowri came second in the National competition “Song for Wales” and in July she released her 2nd Welsh Language CD “Dim Da Maria (Not at Maria’s)”.
