 Marshal is venturing out on his new solo project called “Broken is Fine”.  Still leading the band called LIFTED FACE DOWN, Marshal has another side to his writing, that is slower, quieter, and more intimate.  After almost 12 years of being in bands, searching for the right sound, it looks like he has found his place in Music.

  This compilation of songs that Marshal is currently working on, is all about desperation.  Being in the face of hopelessness, finding faith in the middle of blackness.  Finding strength when you are completely broken…perfectly broken. 

  The album currently in production is all about finding God at your weakest… at your most vulnerable, at your lowest point.  Finding God through your disbelief, through your pain, through your broken heart, and through your stubbornness.  BROKEN IS FINE, is a collection of songs that Marshal has written that have come about in the face of great hurt.  “Be Still” comes from finding out that his father has Terminal Multiple Sclerosis.  “Broken is Fine” comes from Marshal’s personal frustration with his relation to worship and the Church.  “Middle of Blackness” comes from Marshal and his wife’s personal struggle with a miscarriage.  “Leaving Winter” comes from some dear friends who lost their twin boys.  “Oh My God” comes from Marshals frustration with himself, and Christian mediocrity , And on it goes.

 “I once heard a quote that said,  ‘You cannot be greatly used, until you are greatly broken”  that’s what this album is about.  This album is about seeing God through this heartache.  It’s not at all about understanding God… cause this isn’t usually the hardest part, if even at all possible.  This is about waiting on God… Acknowledging God through the darkness, not trying to fix yourself, or your situation, but taking that to God and allowing him to hold you...”

 Always remember.  God is the healer.  Don’t wait to come to him when your “fixed” because Broken…is fine.”
