FIRST EP AND ALL SONGS AVAILABLE ON

Originally from Stockholm and Bogota, Alexander Maxwell (vox / gtr) and Antoine Tores (lead gtr /vox) play their alternative acoustic pop rock songs.

Inspired by the spirit of the "MTV unplugged" sessions, these two songwriters met in Paris in September 1999.

Their influences range from newer bands like Turin Brakes, Radiohead to classic artists such as Neil Young or Dave Matthews.

The music, lyrics and arrangements, are always written together.

On stage, they develop a mix of original songs and rearranged covers.

Their first self produced EP (2006) is distributed on iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody. The music video for the "Late Night Blues" song has been released same year.

They are currently adding the finishing touches to their second album to be released in January 2008.

Maxwell & Tores have just scored the theme arrangement of the new EDF TV advertising campaign via "15-30 MUSIC" for the EURO RSCG agency

Maxwell & Tores new video Late night blues has just been uploaded on their website and here on myspace. The shooting took place in Paris early summer 2006 with La Camarilla Productions 

Late night blues is one of the first songs Maxwell & Tores have
written at the beginning of  2001. Quickly tested on stage and then recorded right after, that pop blues song ending most of their gigs has become quite obvious to their track list. 
It is also one of the songs of the first Ep released in 2006.

Later on, director Matthieu Mares Savelli and  partner Julien Colonna from La Camarilla productions felt inspired to shoot it on video. 

William Hadgery, great blues musician and singer was asked to be part of it.  His "blues is watching you" character is bringing up the out-of-time mood the director was looking for.

The shooting took place in the "Quartier Latin" here in Paris in the end of may 2006. Maxwell & Tores chose to keep it very real as a place they could have played in. On stage untill no time for the last customers of that late lonely night in a bar...

MAXWELL & TORES NEW ALBUM

After a first Ep available on Itunes, Napster and Rhapsody,
Maxwell & Tores are currently recording the last songs of
their new album, set for release this summer 2007

How to go back to the simple spirit of the first songs after quite abusy gigs period ? Just what they have been working on for the past few months.

Recording the new songs of  their second album  between Paris and Brussels, they've tried to recreate the same work atmosphere they had in the first Ep sessions.
They tried to recall that moment where the first songs were written outside, sitting on one of the "Champs de Mars" park's bench here in Paris.

Home recording in Brussels this winter, they've decided to stick to the acoustic plan,  the idea that most of the new songs  had to sound as interesting on stage as on a record,  and above all, ready to be played anytime anywhere.

From the very Cuban  Love from Cuba to the almost shouted
chorus on Out of line,  from the funk-blues groovy guitars
on All of my pride to the light pianos and percussions of
some of the other new songs, this new album is quite a nice
experience to them so far.
It is set for release this summer 2007.
