MELON HEADS are an intrinsic piece of Ohio myth and folklore. The legend is based in Lake County where the sitings have been centered. Whether they are the result of experimentation gone awry, by a local physician, or the spawn of earthly visitation by extraterrestrial visitors, or the inbred offspring of early Mormon pilgrimagers who took part in unholy deeds in the forests surrounding the Old South Church, at the heart of this Mormon "Mecca", the results have continued to make themselves known, appearing along foggy, dark country roads in and around Kirtland and Kirtland Hills, Ohio. Whether it be the drunken teenagers lurching along in their new SUV's, looking for a place to pull over and engage in premarital sex, or the tired hospital worker returning home after a long shift at the Lake Hospital Systems, or the illegal deer hunter, spotlighting their prey, these "Melon Heads" of Lake County continue to run across the road in the illumination of headlights, continue to leap from bush to bush, continue to deperately run, their enormous heads wobbling as though they were some grotesque "Bobble Head Doll" on the dashboard of a car, causing panic, alarm, and excitement in all who witness their momentary passing. The musical group known as the MELON HEADS possess the skill through their musical prowess, of extricating all these emotions from their audience, through their artful use of the audible frequencies as modified, compiled and altered through their electronic machines, within their secret lair, within the haunted, or perhaps simply 'plagued', forests in Lake County. Nobody who experiences this band, ever leaves unaffected, just as those who witness or experience the fleeting vision of the forests' melon heads are left unaffected.
