     When Melville first began originally in 2002, we were not called Melville. We didnt have name (we at the time were only a jam band that consisted of Alonso and Fernando. Alonso had the idea of starting because he had a drumset and was getting bored of playing by himself. So he over heard Fernando talking about how he had a guitar. Then one day he invited him to play one day at his house. The early sounds of Melville really sucked ass. The first original song of Melville's came about in October of 2002. After a couple of months of just the two them they got bored and decided to look for a bassist. The first bassist, Danie,l new something about guitar but he wasnt great on bass. He never showed up to practices, so they decided to look for a new bassist. They found bassist in a friend named Julio who had prior experience in elementary school, but unfortunately he lost his ability. Fernando and Alonso were hoping to respark his bass playing abilities. He was also undedicated and never showed to the rehearsals.
     By this time they have already played three gigs and were known by only friends. Also by this time they already have had five original songs written. They decided to name themselves The Notts. Without a Bassist they set out to find another. They found a bassist in Eddie Garcia who blew them away with his abilities. So they exchanged phone numbers and planned for a jam. Eddie caught on quick. Once they were settled in as a band they were booked for a friends birthday party. The rehearsal before the show Eddie brought his friend David who was fuckin good on bass, but Alonso and Fernando had no idea. During a break at the show Eddie and David play some Misfits songs together with David on bass and Eddie on drums.
     Fernando had the idea to move Eddie on lead guitar. Eddie was much better on the guitar so he was moved on guitar. David was asked to play bass for the band. The band discussed their problem of having no name since Notts didnt cut it. One day Alonso was watching the Rugrats and was inspired by Chuckie's bug MELVILLE. So Alonso thought it sounded cool. So he let the guys know and they all agreed on Melville.
     Its 2007 now, and Melville keeps going as a group. They have played B.B. Kings club twice which have earned them some good and well deserved recognition, a chance to meet people in the professional music business, and even a chance to perform live over the internet. Melville still performs at backyard shows in the San Fernando Valley Music Scene, but theyre are some minor setbacks with youth violence at shows that do prevent many other bands including Melville from playing. These four guys still love their music, their intruments, and enjoy playing in front any audience even in front of Betrayed By Angels in a Palmdale parking lot.
