About Band
== History ==
Mirth Remedy is an alternative, funk, punk rock band based out of Asheville, North Carolina. They were started in 2004 by brothers Jonathan Ellington(Lead Guitarist)and Andrew Ellington(Drummer). They soon added Rhythm guitarist and singer Joe Kuykendall, followed by the addition of bass player Jonathan Wright. They Played on the local level but suffered a break-up after the first year. Jonathan and Andrew started a new band called Catharsis adding bass player Craig Johnson. Six months after the formation of Catharsis, through frustration in finding a dedicated singer, it was decided that Mirth Remedy would come back together. Craig Johnson replaced Jonathan Wright on the bass. The new line-up changed the bands sound from a punk/hardcore sound to more of a funk/punk rock sound.
== Albums ==
During the early days of the band, a 3 song demo was recorded. The songs "Some Other Day", "Epiphany", and "We'll See" were included on the demo. When the band got back together they finished up recording 3 more songs (with Jonathan Wright on bass)"Emo Legs", "Halloweenie", and "Party Bus". This six song CD went on sale at the local level. Recording to make it a full album, or possibly a completely new one will take place in early 2008 with the final band lineup (Jonathan, Andrew, Joe, Craig) and will show the new funkier side of their music.
