About Band
New Parallel has been built around a concept - that there is a silver lining, no matter how dark the clouds on the horizon. Some of the music is designed to bring out emotions that are dark and brooding, and in response there is an antithesis to those themes in another song. Guitarist David Peak and drummer Ben Cochrane were the backbone (and the only bones) of New Parallel until their ad was responded to by Christopher Dwight. After a very poor first tryout date (something about worshipping the porcelain god due to bad cheese at Carrabba's), Dave opted to have Christopher come back, and on the second tryout he knew that this was the man they were looking for. Within a matter of weeks, talented bassist and friend Chris Benjamin was inducted to complete the band. Opening at the State Theater in St. Petersburg for their first show, it would seem that New Parallel was already on the path to success.
