About Band
Nikola V is an Alternative Rock trio that began in November 2004. The trio consists of vocalist/guitarist Jonathan Wilson, drummer Eric Schwed, and bassist/vocalist Anthony Panko.
All three members grew up in suburbs of Chicago and met one another playing youth ice hockey. After being influenced by bands such as Blink 182, Alkaline Trio, The Offspring, Green Day, and nearly all Southern California based punk bands of the time, the three began writing music of their own which today is the Alternative Rock band, Nikola V.
The sound of Nikola V is focused on tight, loud, and creative drum beats with great clarity, similar to the style of drummer Atom Willard. The bass is a subtle but noticeable blend of highs and lows with great clarity, similar to the smooth, yet raunchy, guitar patterns that are constantly in motion. The vocals, along with the drums, are the prime focus in Nikola V. They consist of a blend of hip hop sounding verses such as the artist Drake with creative and catchy melodies. The vocal sound is targeted toward a loud, direct, compressed, and signature sound, similar to the vocals of Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and the vocals of Sugarcult. Nikola V is driving toward being an image of the new Alternative Rock Era.
