About Band
In Feburary 25 2009 'Orkira' began as a musical vision which was thought up by Dan Hole (bass) following a previous musical project called 'Ruinam' which broke up 2 years previous to 'Orkira' due to numerous reasons. He Approached Connor Bartlett (Guitar) with intentions for him to play Guitar, he agreed because he had seen Dan play bass in previous musical projects such as an un-named band which was start by John James. After Connor Agreed they spent 2 weeks putting up posters and asking for people who could play drums or sing. finally we had two phone calls from two drummers, Alfie and Andrew, after a band 'meeting' Connor and Dan decided to go with Andrew Farmer (Drums) Because of his experience and pure drumming Skillage! We started band practices straight away, covering and writting songs, with minimal arguing (isnt that right Dan and Connor). On May 1st (about 10 weeks after the start of Orkira) Connor, Dan and Andrew decided to go and see a friend which they hadn't seen in a couple of years called Ben, whilst catching up with Ben Leighton (Vocals), We descovered that he sings/ screams for his own Death Metal band called 'Abyss'. He offered to do the vocals for 'Orkira'. We originally called the band 'Pandemic' but changed it on the june 10th to Orkira. We all have high hopes for the future and should be out there rockin' it up soon.
