About Band
Pots ‘N’ Pans seemingly came out of nowhere. The Palm Beach County-based band formed in February 2007. Two months later, they were invited to take part in New Times Broward-Palm Beach’s exclusive Homegrown Music Showcase, as well as the popular music/art/comedy event “Who’s Yer Dada” in Miami’s Design District. In September, Pots ‘N’ Pans were on the bill for the 20th anniversary of Respectable Street, West Palm Beach’s premier alternative night club. By then, the band had garnered press from nearly every media outlet in town – the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, City Link, New Times Broward-Palm Beach, Miami New Times, the Forum, Florida Atlantic University’s University Press and the Palm Beach Post, which interviewed guitarist/vocalist Billy Boloby on his involvement in the local music scene.
With an equal love of late-‘70s punk and power-pop (the Ramones, the Jam, Elvis Costello) and contemporary pop-punk (Mr. T Experience, Methadones), as well as ‘60s Motown and Nuggets-style rock, Pots ‘N’ Pans toes the line between the old and the new, the melodic and the neurotic, meticulous songwriting and high-energy stage antics. As of September 2007, Pots ‘N’ Pans has one release – Presenting… Pots ‘N’ Pans, a four-song EP available as a free download on the band’s web site, www.thepotsnpans.com, or MySpace page, www.myspace.com/potsnpansband.
