About Band

Project Mayhem is a group of impressive, savvy MCs with such a wide range of identifiable characters; second only in variety to The Outsiders’ Johnny, Ponyboy and Dallas.  Easy Paper, Cashus Clay and Young Lennon give skeptics, cynics and so called “hip hop heads” more than just another story about the school of hard knocks.  The group continues to provide an accurate account of situational tales minus over exaggerated violent accounts with the use of deadly weapons. At first, you may deem this to be the album Prodigy and Havoc meant to release when they instead chose to team up with the popular, 112, an album ago.  Mistaken only for a moment as the duo, Project Mayhem surfaces as a young rap entourage with subtle hints of lyrical and production maturity.

In true Fight Club form, the Project Mayhem led by narrator by club member Marco Dan leads the audiences to recognizing and revealing their multifaceted backgrounds and skill sets. Entering the rap game no sooner than the day before yesterday, their seasoned rhythms have no history. Challenging and competing in their everyday lives – they figured, “Rapping? Oh, we can do that too and do it better.”   Doing it better, the Project Mayhem force consists of Young Lennon (twin brother of Marco Dane), who leads the group with an authoritative sound that would scare a classroom of unruly children to silence with an emotion burst track after track.  Beside him lies Easy Paper, whose smooth, lax pace and lyrics can charm women out of their skirts and blouses and their men from brown to green eyed, humoring every one song after song. Cashus Clay’s stand alone remarks, rap energy, level flare and magnetic personality complete this rap entourage.

With such a wide range of separate identities and leaving no one out, Project Mayhem gives you a series of stories and characters to identify with, all over well-versed beats and lyrical liveliness. Driven by a male perspective, Project Mayhem speaks indirectly to female listeners – evoking no love stories, but including women and girls in the audience only by speaking up for their fathers, brothers and boyfriends. So leave your violins and weapons at home while spinning and learning from this record.  There will be no love making or gun poppin’ here - Project Mayhem breaths loyalty and is gonna teach your squad more than how to slang rocks on your block.  No mistake though, they can do that too.

Project Mayhem has performed/collaborated with Chicago greats: GLC (G.O.O.D. Music), Mikkey (formerly of Cash Money Records and currently Virgin Records), Crucial Conflict and Boo (formerly of Boo and Gotti and Cash Money Records) to name a few. You can catch the group performing in the city and the region at any given moment as they continue to build buzz for themselves as a group and for each MC.
