History of Reaction
History of Reaction as I remember /condensed version
Reaction formed in & around 1984 as the band exists today.
Steve and Jim had met earlier as teens playing together in a pop rock metal band. Mark joined the two and added his steady beat. Bob, a friend of Mark, joined as lead guitarist to complete Reaction as it was then and as it is today. The bands first demo was recorded in 1984 at Chicago Trax Studio and was produced by Larry Sturm. In around 1986 the band traveled down to Atlanta to record 6 songs that were produced by Peter Buck of R.E.M. This was due in thanks to a cool Chicago band of the time called Get Smart who had passed a demo along to Peter. Two years later another demo was recorded and was produced by Mike Hoffmann of E*I*E*I*O. Reaction would be together up until 1991. When life, as it does, caused the band to move on. Reaction never really did break up the way many bands do and have remained friends over the years. The band would be together off and on, but more off then on. The pictures of the band on the space are obviously from in the day. In about 2002 Reaction got back together again to record material for a new cd. The band worked on new songs practicing old songs and played shows along the way. In 2005 the band again called upon Mike to produce the new cd. The cd was released in the summer of 2006 and is available at cdbaby.
