Singer Cri of Italian band RELAYPSE asked to write a review about their current Promo CD. So I have downloaded these 4 tracks from their digital home and wow! I didn't expect what I got to listen to. There is no bio or history on their website and while looking at their photos it seems these 5 youngsters are still very young. But what they blow around our ears is really impressing!
Four tracks enormously powerful produced and that for a  CD! It's unbelievable heavy and beamy. In a musical way they range between Nu Metal, Metalcore and a bit Crossover. But they don't sound that much as an American band, though connotations with Godsmack are allowed. They also don't fit in European Aggro Metal drawers.
I Try convinces above all with its alternating singing between clean vocals and growls. Especially the clean singing is outstanding. Cool guitar lines and solos can also be found. Not King starts out with groovy bass lines you can hear out over the entire track. Go Away begins firstly very quiet with acoustic parts and clean singing. But at the end they can't do without bringing heavy guitars and this fu***ing fat sound. Closer Lost For The Victory kicks again ass and you get the full broadside without any squiggles.
Singing could be probably more in the foreground and in general instruments could be produced more differentiated. Besides, there is nothing really to nag about.
RELAYPSE has delivered a great demo. There a big potential and I wouldn't wonder to hear of them soon again. You definitely should check them out! All tracks can be downloaded from their website.
