About Band
Rêverie project was founded in 1996 by composer and guitarist Valerio Vado. Aim of the project is the creation of music inspired by the roots of Italian, European and Mediterranean music (renaissance, baroque, celtic, middle-eastern folk) and "ambient" music, mixed together with a "contemporary" sensitivity. Another peculiarity of the project is the mix of acoustic instruments (winds, piano, classical and acoustic guitars, mandolin, cello, etc.) a nd electronic instruments (electric guitar, synths, effects), obtaining a sound definable as "progressive folk". The ensemble started to perform live in February 1999, at the San Domenico Savio Theatre in Milano, with a 6-musicians line-up. Since then, Rêverie played several concerts in all Northern Italy, in small theatres, concert halls and open air music festivals, with line-ups varying from 2 up to 7 musicians. Up to now, Rêverie has published three cds (all self-productions), each of them "focusing" a particular moment of the constant evolution of the project. The cds got positive reviews in Italy and abroad (USA, France, Germany, Spain, ecc.), and several tracks are broadcasted by several radio networks [Radio Onde Furlane, Radio Padania, RockFM, Amburadio, etc. (Italy), Radio Tsarina (Holland), Art-Rock (Polonia), PlanetProg (USA) ecc.]. Furthermore, all the members of Rêverie are involved in other musical and theatre projects: as sessionmen, as music teachers, as members of classical and jazz orchestras, musical theatre companies and pop-rock groups. A new cd, containing Shakespare's sonnets set to music by Valerio and renaissance dances rearranged for the ensemble, will be published soon.
