Richy was Born & raised in South east London in 1979 and Has grown up around music, he Became fond of Music at a young age " my dad always tested me on songs he listened too" (pink floyd, Fleetwood-mac, ELO, Paul simon, to name but a few).he always asked me to describe the tune and sound and always wanted me to learn new Instruments" so At the age of 13 he got his first pair of Turntables and perfected the art of mixing.
unfortunetly The Dj'ing Lights went out for me when a friend of mine introduced me to a recording studio his brother had in his loft, cause i was starting to fiddle around with pianos and keyboards at the time we both thought it would be ideal for us to record ourselves, and the rest is history.
As soon as i saw the set up i was in my element and his bro was running us through the basic's of how to sample, sort the start & ends points out and put into keygroups which was very daunting i must say. I loved it, we started sampling 2Step Garage records cause they had gaps in the beats at the start of most records so you could get a perfect sample, and keygroup them into the sampler and spaning them across the keyboard (midi controller) , and because the samples we had taken were mastered and mixed down they sounded Good!
We used an S900 & S950 S1000 Akai samplers, K4 module, Roland D50, Juno 106 Keyboards,a TB303, Atari ST, zoom Effects Rack, Tracy Elliot EQ,
MJ Cole has inspired me so much with my music as you will hear through my records, tight bass lines, with punchy rythem and melodys, great drums & percussions. very complex chord structures.
