Sandusky Road is back and better than ever. The brain child of drummer Austin Lewter and front man Damien Booth, Sandusky Road was formed four years ago with the induction of bassist Curtis Crofford. At the time the trio spent much time writing music and auditioning musicians. After a year of playing every weekend, Booth took a personal sabbatical from the group due to the birth of his first son. Crofford and Lewter decided to keep playing but not under the name Sandusky Road until Booth returned. Lewter spent two years playing blues full time for Lil Jesse Moreno while he and Crofford jammed casually with countless other artist including Rick Evans, Jeremiah Current and The Silver Nickel Band. In Feb. of 2005, Crofford and Lewter joined with guitarist Richard Tipton and songwriter Josh Hamm in efforts to establish and acoustic, original songwriting super group. In doing so, Flat Foot Larry was formed. FFL stayed busy until March of 2006 when Hamm decided to pursue solo interest. In an attempt to finalize the FFL schedule, Lewter contacted Booth to allocate a vocalist to fill the bill left by Hamm. The original agreement was, Three more shows, well keep it FFL and all you have to do is sing. Whatever! After one show in Eufaula, Okla. Booth was hooked and ready to try it again. Thus, Sandusky Road is back. The four-year-old hype of the Red River area band that "...should have made it but never did..." has been reborn. The group keeps the show schedule to a minimum two to three shows a month to allow creative flow prevent redundancy. When they do play, it is definitely a treat. The Collinsville, TX based quartet garnishes original ideas, poetic lyrics and an acoustic flair.
