Stranger At The Gate originally started about 3 years ago now. Over time we've seen many a member come and go... Mostly just drummers which has almost made us look into changing our name to Spinal Tap. The current line up is founding member Rob Fisher (Lead vocals and guitar), along with Wade Maude (Backup vocals and guitar), Chase Archer (Backup vocals and bass) and Steve Meyer (Drums and wishes he was backup vocals! [Sorry Steve but not everyone can multi-task] But we love him anyways!)
We started off playing... well... pop punk/ party tunes which is alright... I mean most genre's have their ups and downs. But over the last 6 months (give or take) we've started writing more intricate pieces which are starting to lean towards a metal side. We've even altered some of our original scores to be a little chunkier for your listening pleasure!
Like most bands out there in Calgary right now however, we're finding it hard to rack up some money to get our asses into the recording studio again to record our new songs and possibly even re-record our older material to show people what we've become. So if you hear about an upcoming show and happen to be in the same city as us, get your asses down there and listen to us live. If there's one thing we can prove is that we sound infinitely better live than recorded, plus we like to party, and lets face it. At a party, the more the merrier!
