Schizo

About Artist

Schizo began rapping at the age of 8. She, her sister, and cousin formed a group called MC Force and would perform at their family gatherings. She credits Tupac, Slick Rick, LL Cool J, and Public Enemy as her influences.  Schizo began producing in 2003, and later honed her skills on debut album, "Wednesday's Tomorrow."

In 2005 she released critically acclaimed Wednesday's Tomorrow, producing the majority of the album.  It included the favorites, "Blues," and "Carolina Skies"  She explains, "A lot of people don't know how long it took me to make that album.  When i first began networking around the city, I had worked the album about a year and a 1/2.  I had to get it just right.  I had something to say."

Schizo seems to take the same approach with her second album.  Having taken a five year hiatus, when asked about her extended break she had this to say.  "I wanted to do the album on my own time.  There were times when I thought the album was done and then shut the whole process down.  Your art is really your soul.  No one should be able to tell you when to expose your soul."  Schizo's second album, entitled "Resistance" will be released in early spring, 2012
