About Artist
Scott, The Musical. The moniker in which Scott Walker is known for was formed back in 2006, under the name CodeStarAdam, which released four full length self produced albums. In the year 2009, Walker decided to begin recording under the moniker of Scott, The Musical to which he describes, "I had to change the name haha, its not that CodeStarAdam was bad, it's just that after a while, everyone started thinking my name was Adam. Which, of course, is a bit awkward to correct mid-sentence haha.."
In January of 2009, Walker began pre-production for his first Scott, The Musical release "The Stigmatist & The Sceptic EP" which was later released in March. Following the wide success of his latest single "Return to Sender," Walker took that momentum, and focused it on his latest full length release, "I Gave Her Butterflies, She Gave Me Crabs" which Walker describes as, "..it's got a bit of pop, a couple of low key songs, and loads of emotion haha, I think its got a little bit of something for everyone.."
IGHBSGMC dropped on myspace on May 13th (Walkers 19th Birthday), and was soon leaked onto such websites as Mp3Boo.com and WeWantLeaks.net, when asked how he felt about the album leaking before he had desired, he simply replied, "You know, haha, it was flattering really, but it was also kind of depressing. I think more so flattering though.."
A Month later, the reviews we're in, hailing such praises from sites such as SliceThePie.com,
"..it didn't feel like I was listening to an unsigned artist at all..",
"..this is riddled with subtle back melodies hidden for the listener to pick up on. Great tune, classic themes with some new twists."
"..his voice was very calming to hear and seemed to flow so well with the music he's created.."
"This guy is intensely commercial and fits into the current music zeitgeist easily. The lyrics are perfect for teens to identify with (an important demographic.)"
"Would like to hear more from this artist. Good singing voice, catchy tunes.."
Currently working on his new album, which is due out in December, Walker has started planning for his second tour, which will cover the eastern states, starting in Northern Florida, and ending in New Jersey. When asked why he decided the east coast, his reply was short, "..I'm sick of California haha, Its time I visit my friends on the east coast!" No information has been released regarding this tour yet, all thats known is that it is planned for January of 2010, and that their is going to be three other acoustic artists on the ticket.
