SYLVAIN CECILE is from the Detroit area music scene of the late 1980's / 1990's. He was a member
of the progressive/goth band, The Reptiles, a staple of the Detroit alternative scene. The Reptiles
disbanded in the early 90’s but Sylvain continued to write and produce dark, melodic music with
thought provoking lyrics and a unique sound that instantly grabs the listeners attention.
Sylvain’s current project, Slave to the Light, includes a cast of talented supporting musicians, a
variety of eccentric instruments mixed with eclectic songwriting which has been combined to
produce a fascinating E.P., “The Light”.
With comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Joy Division and the Pixies,
Sylvain’s musical tone and lyrics have placed him amongst a diverse and respected group of
musicians.
