Together in various setups since 1999, Eastern Oregon-based father-daughter duo Matt and Anna Snook head the 'acoustic Americana' group on vocals, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and dobro. Sharon Porter, longtime friend and band member, holds down the bass end of the spectrum; and newest member, Patrick Gunning, rounds out the band's sound with guitar. Emphasizing both vocals and instrumentation, the group lists Nickel Creek, Crooked Still, Tim O'Brien and David Grisman as major influences in their song choice, sound, and overall appearance. Currently finishing up their first CD (due to be released at any time in the near future), Northwest Bluegrass, Snooksband hopes to begin a new chapter of their career.
