The Soul Tymers Show Band & Revue

Hi, my name is Ken Scearce & I'm the bass player, Manager & co-founder of the band. I started playing bass when I was16 years old (over 45 years ago) & have played with a lot of top local groups over the years. The Barons, The Dynamic Souls, Chester Mayfield & the Casuals, The Naturals & The Masters of Soul. I also have set in with the Embers on occations. Over the years I was lucky enough to have opened shows for The Platters, B.J. Thomas, Joey Dee & the Starliters & The Marvellets. About two years ago I was playing for The River City Band & met Wyatt Webb , a very fine drummer that had returned from Nashville after playing with many top artist there ( David Allen Coe, George Jones, Paul Lium & others). Together we (Wyatt & Myself) Founded the SoulTymers band (Not Old Tymers). Over Time we were able to enlist other top artist from the area with same backgrounds to form "The Band". On Keyboards & Sax We were very lucky to find Junnie Walton to replace Ronnie "Doc" Warren an original member of the Band. (Doc is an inactive member of the Band at this time) For the last 40 years Junnie has been all over the East Coast with every top band in the area including The Soul Masters, The Major's & Fox & Company to name a few. Lead guitar, Jeff Chaney a 30 year vet. on guitar came to us after playing with such bands as Renegade, The Desperados, & Back Street. On rythym guitar is Doug Chaney, who has played with the likes of Joe Tex, Chuck Berry & The Showman to name a few. Doug is also our Band Leader for rehersals & Shows. Our lead vocalist, J. B. McGuire comes to us with 15 years of singing with The Cabin fever Band & the Hat & Coat Band. The Musicians in the SoulTymers band have an average of 33 years each of on stage time. We play in the Virginia, North & South Carolina areas. We play Carolina Beach , Soul, Blues & Classic Rock & Roll music along with some "Fun Songs' from the past.
