About Artist

News: 12.24.08
I am listed on here as an acoustic/alt/indie type artist, but I also dabble with experimental/electronic stuff.  Earlier this year (let's say July-ish) I completed a 5 song album of ambient/electronic music.  I named the album "Daydreams" and created one copy for myself to listen to every once in a while.  But I really like the songs that I created and thought it would not hurt to post them here, so I put together a little album artwork and loaded up the tracks.  In the music player they are the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th songs listed.  I didn't want my acoustic songs to get pushed out of view of the first tracks so I placed the "Daydreams" songs on either side of my acoustic songs.  I hope whoever listens finds them enjoyable.

About

I am a solo singer/songwriter/guitarist in southeast Michigan. Presently I am writing and recording an acoustic album independently. I previously had a name for the album but am not sure that I am going to stick with it.  I want to finish it and hear it first.

I do not try to define my music by genres or styles, opting to write and perform about what inspires me in whatever way I can find to fit the emotion best. Many of my songs are about my amazing relationship with my wife, Jenny, and our story together. The others are about past experiences, experiences of friends, and political/social issues.

I have been in several bands since 2000, most notably the band Maelstrom in which I was the lead singer and occasionally played rhythm guitar from 2000-04. Other acts include Nebulous, Five Dollar Word, and Hywire.

My musical influences include: Incubus, Thrice, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Coheed and Cambria, Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World, Jack Johnson, Stone Temple Pilots, The Who, Foo Fighters, Alien Ant Farm, Emery, Atreyu, Funeral For A Friend, and many more.

If you are looking for a singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist, feel free to contact me. I am also working on a project in which I am looking for another guitarist and a bassist.

Untitled Album
Tracks up:

1. Chicago
2. Mad World (acoustic cover)*

The album will have betwen 8 and 12 tracks. I no longer have a definite timetable for finishing this album as I have many competing interests at the moment.

*- Mad World was originally written by Tears for Fears.  The version I have covered is more akin to the version recorded by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews in 2001.

Daydreams
1. Red Hot
2. Blade
3. Lightbeam Rev
4. Derailer
5. Carousel

Old News:

12.06.08 - I took down the song "Pray" and replaced it with a cover of the Gary Jules/Michael Andrews version of "Mad World". I took down "Pray" because I'm not sure if I'm going to put it on the album - at least not in its current state. I do think I'm going to include the "Mad World" cover and at least one other cover. Possibly an acoustic Thrice cover. I actually already recorded the song twice, but lost it from computer crashes both times. It seems recording may be at a standstill for me until I can obtain a more reliable system.
