About Band
subvrosa came together in the spring of 2006, combining the various musical and cultural styles of five complete strangers. with members coming from as far away as new york's skyscrapers, to guam's dense jungles, the five-piece all came to hollywood in search of something different. what they uncovered was a new creative method by which to interpret the neo-alternative rock scene.
nor cal natives, and long-time friends, christian liebig and roman moretti came to southern california in hopes of finding a few like-minded musicians who could help them bring their distinct musical vision to life. the pair began writing together in middle school, and quickly realized that christian's straightforward, power-pop infused low-end combined seamlessly with roman's more refined and intimate acoustically driven melodies. upon arriving in LA, the duo hooked up with lead guitarist max browne, who contributed his melodic hard-rock approach to the fray. those elements, in addition to his pronounced classical and latin influences provided yet another dimension for the group to explore.
shortly thereafter, the guys came across dynamic singer/songwiriter, jenna lynn, who brought her outgoing 'so-cal' style, pop-influenced lyrics and blues inspired vocals into the fold. jenna approached the new project with reckless abandon, ambitiously tackling the melody lines and lyrics, in addition to making instrumental suggestions. her seemingly never-ending supply of energy and confidence gave a new face and new life to the rapidly maturing sound.
the fifth and final member to join the party was drummer zachary greene, fresh off a touring stint with the black eyed peas. zack's thundering snare hits and freewheeling, hip-hop influenced style rounded out the band's wholly irreverent spectrum of sound.
altogether, subvrosa's tremendous diversity is reflected in the musical paths they choose to pursue. whether it's in their haunting intros, or their crashing choruses; jenna lynn's soulful, reflective delivery or christian's urgent, manic bass attack, each person gets the opportunity to speak directly to the listener through his/her given instrument in their own particular voice.
