About Artist

Sometimes, the stars align and something magnificent happens. Such is the case when one hears the voice and soulful stylings of Tammala, a Houston native. Sure to be one of R&B’s next artists as the ‘one to watch’.

Tammala’s voice can only be described as extraordinary. She has that classic melodic, yet pure and unfiltered bluesy voice that within an instant, your ears are soothed and you are hooked. Her talent ranges from musical styles spanning from Rhythm & Blues to Jazz, Indie to Neo Soul and Pop to Rock N Roll and not surprising, her passion is in opera.

Tammala’s vocals have been featured on a host of Houston based rap recording acts on the Rap-a-Lot Records label such as, UGK, Big Mike and Trinity Garden to name a few. She has also had the pleasure of sharing a studio session with George Clinton and the late great Gary ‘Diaper Man’ Shider, of the legendary group P Funk. At the age of 14, Tammala auditioned for and successfully made it into the group “Girls Tyme”, which later formed Destiny’s Child. She also has had the pleasure of working with Bad Boy’s former VP, Mel Smith. Tammala has shared the stage with the likes of Ne-Yo, Angie Stone and Erykah Badu singing backup for a Houston solo R&B songstress.

The key objective of Tammala talents is to “Entertain and influence people, emotionally through music.” The incommensurable realm of opulent styles can be easily recognized in Tammala’s music, for it is both soulful and euphoric, while at the same time maintains a pop and old school essence, with a zestful infusion of jazz oriented sound. A truly unique, refreshing, and original talent that does not get caught up in any one particular musical trend, but seriously pushes the envelope and defines its own boundaries while presenting crossover flair and something for every listener.

Come along for the journey …
