                                             The BackRoads Band

 

 

The BackRoads Band was founded in 2001 by Matt Schwartz (lead singer and rhythm guitar) from Kalamazoo, MI with his wife Sheila. Ron (lead guitar) and Ellen Gallegos(piano)are  from Battle Creek ,MI .  Floyd (bass guitar) and Janet Martin(drums) from Middlebury ,IN.

 

      Matt has been in music since a child with his family and has performed for many different venues as a soloist and with different bands. He also recorded a solo self titled CD in 2000 before he was aquainted with his current band.

 

 Ron and Ellen are also very seasoned in music. They have performed with country greats such as the late Billy Walker, Bobby Bare, Freddy Fender, Connie Smith and many more. They have been inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame.

 

    Floyd has been involved in music through out the years also. Him and Matt were in a country gospel band in the 80’s called The Pilgrims. Janet is Ellen’s daughter and she grew up singing gospel music with her mother.
