About Band

"New single 'PULL THE TRIGGER' available 21st June 2011" “It really was just a drunken jam at our mutual friends BBQ that has kept on going” says lead singer Josh Johnstone of how The Happy Endings came to being a band. “We were all a bunch of Perth ex-pats, and kinda busy with other bands, but thought there clearly ain’t enough side projects in the world so let’s start one anyway... and here we are” The Happy Endings are a well toured band to say the least... Following a successful 84 date Australian national tour to launch their self titled debut album, The Happy Endings went straight back into song writing and demoing for their new album, which you will be released this year. The debut album tour took in Noosa, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Wagga, Melbourne, Bendigo, Hobart, Launceston, Adelaide, Perth, Margaret River, Kalgoorlie, Collie, Geraldton, Karratha, Port Headland, Broome and almost everywhere in between. In July & August 2009, The Happy Endings took their debut album to the world with a run of international tour dates. The tour saw the band play some massive festival and club dates in UK, USA and Europe, including the main stage of a European festival with Moby, Ting Tings, James Blunt and Pete Doherty, and a set at the famous 'Viper Room' in Los Angeles. The Happy Endings have just put the finishing touches on their second album “Greatest View from Alcatraz” which was tracked between the famous Sing Sing Studios and the bands new home studio in Melbourne. It was mixed and produced under the very cool eyes and ears of Phil Butson. The first taste of the album is latest single "Rehab" - available online now. Some other recent exiting news for the band is the inclusion of their music in two new Australian films 'Taj' (see www.tajthemovie.com) and 'Congoro' (see www.picturereelstudios.com/congoro) – both will be in cinemas 2011. Over the past few months, The Happy Endings have started playing some great festival line-ups and support slots in Melbourne alongside such acts as Children Collide, Little Red, Vasco Era and more. Keep up to date with the band via their social media pages and try and catch a show on the coming tour and see why this bands live show is responsible for their international popularity to date.
