About Band
The Jacobins were formed in late 2008 at Keele University in Staffordshire, England by three fine young men (Rowan, Oisin and Spence) who felt they didn't have enough to do studying for their degrees and needed something else to distract them.
After several jam sessions they realised they'd forgotten one important thing, a bassist, seconds after posting an ad on the Keele musician society forums they were inundated with thousands of requests to play in the band. From these thousand one rose almighty and his name was Ed.
Once Ed was settled and the band had several covers under their belts they decided to go along to an open mic at one of the campus bars (Horwood Bar to be specific). Having not previously decided on a name and with the pressure on, Spencer (who studies law and is commonly known as Spencer from MENSA) came up with the name The Rewinds.
Shortly after this the band discovered to their horror that The Rewinds was already the name of a band in America and, not wishing to anger the American community, decided to rename the band The Jacobins.
The band then began learning several more covers and writing their own songs, Rowan alone wrote several hundred masterpieces over the summer, (most of which were scrapped due to their revolutionary nature) and these along with several of Oisins were narrowed down to 6 or 7 songs which are currently being recorded in a top secret studio in a top secret location by a top secret sound engineer.
