Hi there, J.D.Ratt here, just gonna tell ya a few things about my part in this Monster that is the Barrels; I joined the band october 07, and the Barrels were just beginning to re-mould themselves into something new.  Nick East (The Beast), and Kim Barti (Barticus) were the only guys left from the original experiment and they had enlisted the services of a great french guy called Paul.  Originally there was to be no front man singer as Nick was the power behind the vocals in the beginning.  Kim approached me about having a go at some of the tunes, and as I was currently only singing in the bath at the time, I jumped at the chance.  I had worked with Kim previously in a band called Elevation (which had one of my heroes playing guitar in at the time; the legendary Huw Lloyd Langton of Hawkwind fame!!), so Kim had a rough idea that I could carry the odd tune.  Several practises later and I was consumed by the power of the thing, and place was securely cemented.  We played a few gigs, to good response, and gently moved forward towards hope of a demo.  Then artistic differences with our bass player Paul caused a hiccup in the progress and he was ejected.  The band overall is dependent on good humour and banter, and sadly Paul didn't quite get the joke.  We tried a few other bass players without much success, then I suggested a friend of mine of many years to 'ave a go.  He blew us away!!!!.  Now Big Al has joined our merry throng, there is no stopping us; feel the power of his bass lines; hear the thunder of Kims drums; sob madly at the shredding of the Beast, and be pummeled by the gravel of my venomous vocals......BE AFRAID.........BE VERY AFRAID..........WE MAY BE ON YOUR DOORSTEP REAL SOON.............

Hello everyone...this is beastie , guitarist with the smokin barrels and thanks for logging on to our page and listening to our tunes..well ive been in this band from the start  and what was basically a bit of a jam and a weeky get together has now started to develop into something serious and we have what we think is a solid and thunderous metal band thats taken it's next step along the road with our recently recorded demo.Myself and lord Barticus (drums) originally put this outfit together in 2003 and then in sept07 we got together with voiceman jd Ratt and now Big Alex who has fitted in like the long lost final piece of the jigsaw!! superb.

Thing's are gradually falling into place with a video planned and hopefully an album by the end of this year.

Myself,well i like anything heavy and loud with a particular fondness of low end crunch and i'm in a band where i can experiment with all sorts of riffs and melodies...one thing we dont do is stick or aim for any type of genre...we play smokin barrels music and we do what it says on the tin..ha ha:-).As for the rest of the guy's...well there all as mad as hatters but i couldnt wish for a better bunch of musicians and we have developed  a form of comedy within the barrels known as "barrels banter"!! Keep tuning in to this page and  watch out for news and gigs,so catch us when u can and by me a pint when you see me

Hi, BigAl the bassist here, first n foremost thanks for taking the time to visit and i hope you enjoy listening to the tracks as much as we enjoyed laying em down. I’ve only been with the Barrels a short time (but as you’ll see by the photo’s i have been Barrel shaped for a long time, so i guess it was meant to be). I couldn’t ask for a better situation to be in, the musicianship / tightness and pure nutnut banter make this band a breath of fresh air and though we don’t always get it  right 100% first time, we do get it on 100% every time. Gigs and Website coming real soon, so come see us if ya can.

 As far as my taste in music goes i can listen to anything as long as it’s played proper (like what we do).
