The Soggy Dog Ends was born in the heart of the 'Summer of Fraternity', year of our Lord 2008. The harsh summer sun beat heavy on the tournesols, baked the bales in the fields and all but dried up our well. Times were hard and food scarce. Then, one auspicious moonlight night in August, after supper and fuelled by several bottles of good wine, The Soggy Dog Ends found their sound in an ancient 5-string banjo (Dave) sympathetically accompanied by fiddle (Dietrich) and Guitar (Steve). Christened by Dave (The Crow) Temple, the vocal soul of our outfit, we first played to a humble street crowd gathered at the Café du Canton in Cognac. We have the good fortune to call the Dordogne region of France our home and play when and were we can, provided suppers and drinks are provided! The Soggy Dog Ends play a mixture of ol'-timey materials, blues and swing and are set to have a Compact Disc pressed and out for your listening enjoyment before too long!
