About Band
Since they settled in Minnesota back in the late 1800's the Vanyo's have always been active with their families and involved in the community. Music was a form of connection for them as they would sing, dance to Old Boheim and Czech music at every event. Church, weddings, funerals, dances all included music played by the Vanyo's.This music archive goes back to the early recordings of the Vanyo's. It represents an army of veteran immigrants who settled in the rough open fields of Minnesota and worked the land. They harvested grains, potatoes, beets, raised animals, grew garden vegetables, cooked and baked for millions of people all over the World. Sunday was an important day of rest and usually a family picinic was held. Food, drink, games, and music were always the routine. Having fun and being happy was very important to these independant thinking farmers. They were devoted Catholics and held God as their honor all through their history. Born from Czech farmers proud and brave.Today this family has an offspring of thousands of children and granchildren carrying on the legacy started by a small few so long ago.
