Working from the bottom up singer/songwriter Jeordan Hill began carving out material for his new project This City Speaks in early 2009. After making the move from Buffalo, NY, to Phoenix, AZ, Jeordan Hill began pre-production and creating demo tracks for his upcoming EP to be released late this winter. These tracks ended up being an entirely new animal than anything produced by the kid from the queen city. This City Speaks is an infusion of ambient techno and hardcore, with a few acoustic tracks in its arsenal, which are rather catchy, but mostly This City Speaks focus is mainly on how much of an edge can be brought to the table. Although, a lot of the music can be deemed hardcore, This City Speaks takes its songs in different directions; such as in "Tell The Captain We're Going Under." About halfway through the song, which up to that point is very intense and full of breakdowns, the tone switches and goes into what could be said to be Moby-like and somewhat epic. There are going to be new and big things for this band in the coming year, so keep your eyes peeled!
