About Artist
I go by the name Osayemi Toyosi, aka (Toyz). I was born and brought up in the city of Lagos,Nigeria on April 1,1986. As a Degree holder in political science, I sweat music like gym socks much more than what I studied way back in the University. When i was first trying to make it as an upcoming artist, i was willing to take risks and try anything.
I describe my music as fun and youthful while at the same time signifying deep meaning. I never choose a song that I can’t relate to in some way, shape, or form. My music will always reflect who I am.
My first experience in the studio was like wo', my producer was amazed at how well I did in the studio the first time. He said I took to it like a duck takes to water! And the studio band couldn’t believe I had never been into the studio prior to the experience.”
As far as am concerned,you can be a performer and not be an artist, but I am an artist. I have spent time studying and researching everything I can about the music industry and becoming an artist. I am not only honing my songwriting skills, but I am also developing my total package including my image and my stage presence, right down to learning how to read a teleprompter if the situation ever arises for me to do so. This isn’t just a dream of mine, this is a goal that I am determined to achieve and I won’t give up. I take and apply all the advice i receive from people, friends, music industry professionals and who serve as mentors to me.
In addition, My influences include Jay-z,Drake,T.I,Ludacris,Big sean,Chris Brown,Usher Raymond, The Maine,Good charlotte,Blink 182, Green Day, Taylor Swift,Kelly Clarkson,Adele,Beyonce etc.
It is my hope that my music will provide a new means for me to give back to my community. I would like to give back to the street for teaching me all that I know, and to other charitable organizations close to my heart.
Having been involved in so many talent huntz and various musicals throughout high school, ain't no stranger to the stage. I feel at home on stage, so every stage I step foot on becomes my home during that performance.
I belive that with God on my side, anything is possible for me to achieve my goals and make my dreams come true. Everyone has dreams and goals, I am just going for mine to the extreme.
