About Band

Tupelo are an exciting, original, acoustic roots act consisting of 5 members. With an eclectic line-up of instruments which includes banjo, guitar, fiddle, saxophone and double bass, Tupelo’s sound is fresh and unique in today’s world of music. The sound could be described as an acoustic ‘melting pot’ of different sounds, influences, eras and ideas, as elements of Country,  Bluegrass, Rock & Roll and even Jazz can be heard in their music.

The band has been keeping busy over the past year making a name for themselves on the Irish music scene. Appearances at several festivals including The Cork Jazz Festival, Kilkenny Rhythm & Roots, and playing support to some of music’s biggest acts including Imelda May, Damien Dempsey, and Booker T have further enhanced their reputation on the scene. Having a top 10 single in the Irish Charts back in October, outselling world famous artists such as Whitney Houston have also significantly raised the profile of the band.  2010 promises to be a great year for Tupelo with the lads releasing their debut album, 'Dirty Money' in the summer and having been nominated for  Meteor's Most Promising Act Award.

"I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tupelo a great band from Dublin. They have a
wonderful sound, great musicianship and fantastic songwriting. They have a rootsy sound
of great mixtures from blues and country to trad. They move the audience from mood to mood
with ease from heartfelt patriotism to pure good auld fashioned fun with their brilliant
songs. With their lead singers charm and the bands sense of fun they'll have you in the
palm of their hand. What more could you want?"
