About Band

Twila Reid was formed during the month of May in 2005. It was a previously untitled project started by A.J. Almeda (Guitar/Vocals) and David Sudock (Lead Guitar/Vocals) after experimenting with several guitar riffs and harmonies in his garage, which inevitably lead to the creation of their first single, later titled "Where The Sidewalk Ends". They later recruited Greg Campos (Drums/Percussion) and former bass player, John Arnold, who left the band several months later and was replaced by Jeremy Miller (Bass/Vocals).
They began making their way into the indie scene with their first show on August 18, 2005 at a small venue named DiPiazza's in Long Beach, CA, following the production of their first 5-track E.P. titled "The Roses Are Dead". From there, the momentum kept on going and their popularity began slowly growing in the greater Orange County area. Still students in high school, they still made the time to play shows, mainly during weekends, at small venues all around Southern California. As the word about Twila Reid continued to spread througout the area and various parts of the country, they recorded their first full-length album entitled "The Floor Beneath Your Feet" during mid-August of 2006 at Love Juice Labs in Riverside, CA. It was released during the middle of September 2006. With the name spreading fast, things were looking up for them as more doors and more opportunities were presented to them which included their first sold out, headlining show within the same month of their record release at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA. Unfortunately, 2 weeks prior to the show, a serious accident to his knee had confined A.J. to a wheel chair and crutches. However, it didn't stop him and the band from performing at their full potential that night, even having to play his heart out in front of hundreds of kids confined to a stool at centerstage.
Their energy and emotion on stage along with their musical talent puts this band on a pedistal that is higher than what many people expected from such a young group of musicians. As of now, Twila Reid is taking alternative direction in their music and experimenting with different thoughts and ideas. Heading on their first cross-country tour this coming summer and a new album soon to be in the making, you can expect many new things from Twila Reid coming your way in 2007.
