About Band
TYRANT was formed in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia) in 1983 by founding members, Neil Steel Wilson, Robert Zarins, Andrew Zarins and Grant Wallace.
The band have released 4 self-financed products to date - debut EP, "Never Too Loud" which reached #1 in Hobart as well as 3 full length albums/CD's - "Freaks Of Nature"(2000), "Thunder Down Under"(2003) and "Live Bootleg!" (2005). The bands' brand of obnoxious, in-your-face hard rock metal is loved by many, with sales in Europe, Australia and the USA.
TYRANT is currently recording their "25th Anniversary" CD - which is under the working title of, "Head On" - will be released by November/December 2009.
Being Australian based - TYRANT is heavily influenced by AC/DC, ROSE TATTOO and THE ANGELS (Angel City overseas readers) and is influenced by countless hard rock and metal acts from all around the world.
TYRANT has played countless shows including numerous 'infamous' Australian venues including: The Manzil Room, Springfields, Kardome Cafe, Seven Hills Hotel, The Republic Bar, The Trout, Oxford Hotel as well as headlining the first ever, "Metal Crusade" - hosted by John Torv at Selina's, Coogee Bay in Sydney.
TYRANT has shared the same stage with the following Australian acts over the years: BOSS, ROSE TATTOO, MORTAL SIN, BENGAL TIGERS, BRONX, SHY THUNDER and THE RADIATORS to name a few.
TYRANT is currently seeking a distribution/recording deal or publishing deal and welcomes all inquires.
