About Band
Ultrea is a female fronted rock band from Madison, WI. You can expect heavy guitar and drums mixed with melodic vocals and powerful screams. Member influences range anywhere from big brass bands to post hardcore metal. We try to make music that is dynamic and relatable, on multiple levels, to touch as many lives as possible. This can be heard on our recently released EP: Ultrea "Always Persevere" which was recorded, Engineered, and mastered by our members. Ultrea means always persevere. This is what we strive to do as a band and as individuals. The band formed in March of 2012. After the break up of Black with Envy, guitarist Greg and drummer Chris agreed to put together a new project. Chris brought in long time friends Jes on guitar and Jen on vocals. Greg asked long time friend and former band mate of Sledgehammer Solution, Jason to play bass. Our goal is to make music with a positive message. We strive to make our fans feel as we do when we write and perform. We have been compared to bands such as Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, and Skillet. We've opened for bands such as In This Moment, CAVO, and Two Dollar Grey in some of Southern Wisconsin’s biggest venues. We are currently writing new material and in the process of constructing our recording space. You can get current songs at all major online retailers. Expect to see us performing new material in early spring of 2013.
